I discovered a photograph I did of Steve Jobs when I was a San Francisco Examiner photographer from the archives at the Bancroft Library, UC Berkeley. I remember I was excited to meet and photograph him, the famous legendary man behind Apple. The photo was taken on May 6, 1993 and Tom Abate was the reporter with me on the story.
When I heard of his death on Wednesday evening, October 5, 2011, it was a bit of a shock and sad for me. He was Apple and the vision for everything in the company. He started the company with a determined vision, got forced out of his own company and came back to the company as it was faltering. He not only saved the company but he brought it to new heights and became one of the most powerful and successful companies in America.
