Scandinavian Airlines has just launched a nonstop Copenhagen to San Francisco route. Scanorama, the in-flight magazine for Scandinavian Airlines assigned me to photograph some of San Francisco’s finest dining hots spots. Two restaurants voted Best New Restaurant in the country by Bon Appetit Magazine are also featured, Mission Chinese in 2011 and State Bird Provisions in 2012. Swan Oyster Depot restaurant always knows how to serve up a fun time.

Photo I took of the 75th Anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge fireworks show on Sunday, May 27, 2012. It was a great time for the many people out there set up with their cameras and tripods. I got to visit with a couple of photojournalist colleagues who were also photographing the fireworks show, Karl Mondon and Ezra Shaw.

I am thrilled to have photos in Sunset Magazine, April 2012 issue of a gourmet Passover meal by Wise Sons Deli. It was a “pop-up” seder at the Coffee Bar in San Francisco. Wise Sons Deli has since set up shop in a permanent location in the Mission District of San Francisco. They have a cult following for their tasty Jewish delicatessen food. http://wisesonsdeli.com

So that’s how you get that oaky wine flavor! I had a great time photographing wine barrel roasting at Demptos Napa Cooperage in Napa, California. They make wine barrels for wineries locally and around the world. When it is winter in Napa, it’s summer in New Zealand for harvest time. This keeps this cooperage busy all year long.

When I heard of his death on Wednesday evening, October 5, 2011, it was a bit of a shock and sad for me. He was Apple and the vision for everything in the company. He started the company with a determined vision, got forced out of his own company and came back to the company as it was faltering. He not only saved the company but he brought it to new heights and became one of the most powerful and successful companies in America.
